World Retail Congress Advisory Meeting in Milan
World Retail Congress, the pre-eminent global event for boardroom level international retail executives is delighted to announce that the Congress will move to Italy for 2015.
Founded in 2007 in recognition of the growth of international retail, the is Congress now well-established as the most important annual meeting place for the international retail elite to unite to tackle the most pressing issues affecting the industry.
Ian McGarrigle, Chairman of the World Retail Congress said: “We are delighted to announce that the 2015 World Retail Congress will take place in Rome on September 8-10th. Rome is one of the world’s great cities and will be an outstanding venue for retailers from all over the world to meet to discuss the key issues facing the industry. The Congress will meet at a crucial time for retailers around the world as they look to re-model their businesses for the digital age”.
Over the last eight years the Congress has brought together more than 6,000 of the most influential retail business leaders and decision makers who have consistently challenged current thinking, as well as unveiling the latest innovations and shaping the direction of retail.
Illustrious retail figureheads and experts have joined the speaker faculty including among them, Angela Ahrendts, Former CEO of Burberry, Motoya Okada, President of Aeon, Burt Tanksy, Chairman of Neiman Marcus and Georges Plassat, CEO of Carrefour.
The Congress has evolved to offer delegates a diverse and informative programme of events. Complementing the array of impressive keynote speeches and interactive business stream sessions the Congress recognises the lifetime achievements of true legends, pioneers and entrepreneurs in the Hall of
Fame. Among others the Congress has honoured Miuccia Prada, Paul Smith and Fast Retailing Founder, Tadashi Yanai.
In addition, the Future retail challenge, which sees student teams from around the world compete to develop a new retail concept, promotes the future talent in the retail industry. Finally, the day long curated Retail Study Tour offers unrivalled insight and ideas into the most iconic shops and retail destinations that the hosting city has to offer.
In 2015, the Congress will build on this success, providing a platform for original, thought provoking dialogue about the future of the retail industry through a variety of interactive presentations, panels, private meetings and discussions.
On Jan 27, a special meeting, taking place at Eataly Smeraldo Milano, will host a group of distinguished Italian retail authorities from key retail companies, associations and media bodies including Pitti Imagine, Sebeto Group, Alessi and CNCC; together these experts will help to shape the programme for the 2015 Congress and consider how the best of Italian fashion, retail and design as part of this international forum.
